No Chores
By: Braelyn K.
Eli does chores three hours a day Monday-Friday. However, Kacie does not do chores due to sports, and other activities. Eli later suffers from a heart disease and dies at a young age, but Kacie on the other hand lives a happier, and longer life.  Kids and adults should not do chores. According to recent studies, doing chores does not get you anywhere in life. Additionally chores can be dangerous, and bad for your health. It can lead you to heart problems, strokes, etc.
According to recent studies from http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ “The research followed approximately a thousand men and women under the age of 55 who suffer from heart diseases and found gender roles on childcare and housework had more to do with heart attacks” (Alleyne). Therefore, chores are bad for you because they might lead to health problems later in life.
Not doing chores is good for you. According to Luscombe “A new study suggests that for both men and women, cleaning up when you get home prevents the body from reducing it’s levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which is a bad thing when you’re supposed to be unwinding”. The article is basically saying that when people come home and they clean up they reduce their levels of stress hormone cortisol, which is a bad thing.
While some may argue that chores are good for your success in school, and that they can have a positive impact later in life, it’s really about the health, and the impact in your life. For example, doing chores is bad for your heart. According to Norris men and women under the age of 55 suffer from heart attacks due to stress from chores. If people decide to do chores, they might experience a higher risk of getting ill or heart problems, than others who don’t have chores. Additionally, people could have a high level of stress, and people doing chores could miss out on cool and fun things in life.
