Think Positive By Ciana-Lei B.

“Positive thinking isn’t about expecting the best to happen every time but, accepting that whatever happens is the best for this moment” (Anonymous). Having a positive attitude helps you and others think better and stronger. It is proven that being positive helps you to live a longer, happier, healthier life. People need to think more positively.
Thinking positive and having a positive attitude helps you to live a longer life. Having a positive outlook lowers the bad health effects of stress on your body (“Positive thinking: Stop negative self-talk to reduce stress”). Stress can cause things like heart attacks and other problems. So lowering the stress you have can help to lower the chances of getting harmful or life threatening diseases.
Not only does thinking positively help you live a longer life, but it helps you live a happier life. According to an experiment done by Barbara Fredrickson, “Participants who saw images of fear and anger wrote down the fewest responses. Meanwhile, the participants who saw images of joy and contentment, wrote down a significantly higher number of actions that they would take, even when compared to the neutral group” (Clear). This shows that when we are exposed to more positive things we are happier and have a better mindset, making ourselves want to do more.
Being positive has a lot of health benefits. From lowering your chances of getting a cold to reducing your risks of dying from a heart disease (“Positive thinking: Stop negative self-talk to reduce stress”). It’s no doubt that being positive helps you live a healthier lifestyle. Being positive also helps you deal better with stress and depression, which allows a healthier mind. Therefore, positive thinking allows everyone to live better.
Some might say that if someone thinks too positively, they might just assume that they’re gonna be perfectly fine when they have a bad disease, or when they truly should be concerned. Well, that’s where it gets a bit confusing, you see most people mix up positive thinking with being way too optimistic and thinking that everything is gonna be fine. Positive thinking isn’t just assuming that everything's gonna be fine, it's about finding the good in bad situations.
If people have negative attitudes, they will be losing out on the many benefits of having a positive attitude. Adding on to that, others around negative people will also be impacted by their bad attitudes, making them unhappy. Therefore, it is clear that everyone should have a positive attitude because it helps people think better, live longer, be happier, and healthier.
